About the Doctors

GERALD A. MARKOWITZ, DMD

Dr. Gerald A. Markowitz has been in private practice since 1969. He graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry and served as a Captain in the United States Army Corps.  He has been a clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Markowitz has guest lectured at Children's Hospital of Philadephia, Temple University School of Dentistry, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and to numerous dental study groups.  A past president and active member of the Main Line Dental Society, Dr. Markowitz is also a member of the American Dental Association, and has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration for many years.  Dr. Markowitz's areas of special interest are general, cosmetic and implant restorative dentistry.  Dr. Markowitz has been listed in the "Who's Who of Dentistry" and has been voted a "Top Cosmetic Dentist" in Main Line Today's Magazine numerous times and again in 2011

 

ERNEST J. DELLHEIM, DMD

Dr. Ernest J. Dellheim obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry, completed a general practice residency at Hartford Hospital, and received his certification in prosthodontics from Boston University. He is a published author.

Dr. Dellheim has been in private practice since 1977. He maintains professional memberships with the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration and the Main Line Dental Society.

Dr. Dellheim currently serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Temple University. Away from the office he enjoys gardening, sailing, cycling, skiing and photography. He volunteers with the Lower Merion Conservancy and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.

 

DAVID B. BLOCK, DMD

Dr. David B. Block, a native Delawarian graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry suma cum laude in 1999.  From there, he completed a 2 year hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Wanting to return to the Northeast, Dr. Block took a faculty position at York Hospital in York, PA, then entered into private practice where he has been for the last 6 years.  Settling in Newtown Square with his wife and 2 small children, Dr. Block joined this office in 2007 and is now a full partner. 

 

 

Dr. Block, named one of The Mainline Times "Top Docs" 2009-2011,   holds memberships in the American Dental Association,  Delaware/Chester Dental Society, Acadamy of Stomatology, Acadamy of Osseointegration, and the Mainline Dental Society.  Dr.Block also annually participates in the the Delaware County Give Kids a Smile Campaign.  When away from the office, Dr.Block enjoys fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.

 

JULIA M. GOLDEN, DDS

Dr. Julia M. Golden graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 1989. After leaving her home state of California, Dr. Golden traveled to Boston where she completed a residency in hospital dentistry with Harvard University and the West Roxbury VA Hospital. She practiced at Harvard University for five years before relocating to Philadelphia in 1996.

As an active member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Golden has served as a representative on various professional committees. She also belongs to the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration and the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society.

Dr. Golden volunteers with programs sponsored by the American Dental Association and participates in many activities in the Lower Merion Community.

Away from the office, she and her husband have raised two loving children. A family passion is travel. She delights in the outdoors and is an avid runner and cyclist. Her hobbies include jewelry making, woodworking and gardening.

 

SOL ROSENBERG, DMD, BDS

Dr. Sol Rosenberg received his degree in dentistry and his specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry 1975-1977.  He has been on the faculty ever since and his appointment as Clinical Associate Professor in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania involves him in many aspects of teaching post-graduate periodontics, restorative and implant dentistry.

 

 

Dr. Rosenberg is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and his expertise is in the field of diagnosis, treatment planning and the treatment of periodontal problems, bone regenerative techniques, implants and TMJ disorders.  He was a prosthodontist for 12 years, confining  his work to crown and bridgework, prior to limiting his endeavours to periodontics and implant therapy.  This uniquely qualifies him through his very comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of the masticatory apparatus (bite).

Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Dental Association.  He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.

His hobbies include skiing, scuba diving and bike riding which he shares with his wife and three children.


ALAN R. SCHATZ, DMD

Dr. Alan R. Schatz obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in 1986. He practiced general dentistry for the following 4 years before receiving his specialty Certificate in Endodontics in 1992 (also from Penn).

Dr. Schatz maintained a private practice limited to Endodontics for 17 years in North Wales, Pennsylvania prior to joining our practice. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists.

When away from the office, Dr. Schatz enjoys skiing, bike riding, and spending time at the shore with his wife and 3 children.
